Surrounded by more security than the president, Mariah Carey dropped by mur.mur in Atlantic City after to her concert at the Borgata to party with husband Nick Cannon who DJ’d for the club.  Fans were pushing and shoving to get a perfect picture of their icon, to the point where we were almost trampled on. But victory prevailed and we got our shot and danced our butts off to Nick Cannon’s awesome jams — wow can that man DJ!

Pop Artist, Keri Hilson Belts Out Her Latest Hits at mur.mur at The Borgata

Oh AC how we love thee! Never a dull moment as we hit mur.mur at The Borgata – the best club in town where Keri Hilson performed her hits “Knock You Down” and “Turnin’ Me On”.  The energy of the crowd was pulsing and what can we even say about the sizzling dancers of mur.mur, so hot you can’t even photograph them! Eat your heart out Vegas.

We always say if you can’t make the long trek out to Vegas; Atlantic City is a sure bet! Great nightlife, shopping and delicious food! A great getaway for those on the East Coast looking for some lascivious and luscious fun!

How You Rock It Has Been Rockin!

Let’s catch up on what the HYRI team has been up to –we witnessed some eye-opening sites at the launch of Carnival at Bowlmor Lanes – fire eaters, rubber like human beings and Paris Hilton feeding a monkey? Yes, we saw it with our own eyes.

We’ve toasted the Hugo Boss fall line with GQ and the Giants’ Mathias Kiwanuka. We had the most fun attending Class with the Countess, a launch event at Bloomingdales for a lighthearted book about how to be a social diva with class, written by Countess LuAnn de Lesseps from The Real Housewives of New York City. With Jorge Perez, National Spokesperson for Waterford, Wedgwood and Royal Doulton, we sipped Champagne from Banfi Vintners and indulged our sweet tooth with cake tastings from Ron Ben-Israel and viewed visually stunning tablescapes created by David Beahm. The best part of all, was we got to meet the elegant and down-to-earth Countess.

How You Rock It About Town

leave a comment »

The How You Rock It team has been making their way through the never-ending party circuit. Over the past week, we’ve hit a launch event for Wyclef Jean and Timberland boots. Wyclef rocked out, as he rapped his encouragement to partygoers to purchase the new line with proceeds going to his charity Y’ele Haiti. Then we squeezed our way through the crowd at M2 Ultra Lounge to witness MAXIM & Stoli present The Moskova Affair: A Seductive Symphony of Debauchery, Decadence and Interpretive Ballet Dance.  This extravaganza did not disappoint, and delivered on their promise of  an event that would be part Cirque du Soleil, part Moulin Rouge-sizzling!
Our team’s bag-A-listers were thrilled to attend the Bagtrends Arm Candy event at Phyto Universe, home of Phyto hair care salon, Lierac Paris skin care and Caron Paris fragrance. Although there was a selection of some of the most fabulous bags from designers like EMRE New York, Adriana Castro and Zara Terez , we were most impressed by the Clipa, the ingenious handbag holder that keeps your purse off the ground. Finally, a smart and inexpensive (SRP $25) way to preserve your $500 handbag and protect it from the bacteria infested floor. Or just hang your bag by the bar, while you grab a cocktail, chat with friends and keep an eye on your worldly possessions!

How You Rock It Fashion’s Night Out

leave a comment »

Just when HYRI thought Fashion’s Night Out was all hype and little heat, we made our way to Barney’s where we waited, and waited, and waited…until finally the Olsen Twins made their appearance to pour drinks for the zealous crowd. Yes, you read correctly, the billionaire twins poured alcoholic beverages for their elated fans. Despite the chaos that ensued due to the disorganization of the Barney’s staff  (no hard feelings Barney — we  still love your fashions) but you were in over your head; we managed to get a drink handed to us by the lovely Mary Kate!

Then we were off to the after-party for the launch of Whitney Port’s (of The Hills and The City fame) new fashion line at the recently opened Mediterranean themed restaurant Le Souk Harem on La Guardia Place. Drinks were flowing  freely and many party people were partaking in the hookah pipe and the yummy eats care of chef Chef Doug Psaltis. The raw sexiness of Le Souk Harem is a must-see. Where else can you be bedazzled by the scantily clad belly dancers?

How You Rock It Fashion Week Party Ends

The HYRI Team had a fanstastic time at Fashion Week 2010. We were lucky enough to end the party on a high note! Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring Fashion 2010 was a minimalist fashionista’s dream.  Breezy silks in pastels of  green and peach. We then made our way to the Tommy after-party at The Jane Hotel. Partying with Tommy and brother, Andy and what looked like, the entire Tommy executive staff felt like a corporate Christmas party thanks to the festive and intimate decor of the recently renovated Jane Hotel.

How Your Rock It Fashion Week Continues

The HYRI team made their way to many of Fashion Week’s hottest parties. We started our day with launch party for Nolcha Fashion Week at the Carlton Hotel. Makeup artists from Rae Cosmetics did a fantastic job  brightening one of team’s tired looking eyes with their water resistant makeup. We were also treated to a demo of beautyvt, a clever new site that offers professional styling advice for hair and makeup using video. Janell the makeup artist was kind enough to give us a walk through of the site. This site will truly be of great assistance  for women aspiring to find their perfect look.

Our evening began with an intimate cocktail party hosted by Vanity Fair for a Keith Lissner window  installation at Christofle Silver.  Our night culminated with a fabulous party for OK! Magazine and Kim Kardashian.

How You Rock It Fashion Week

How You Rock It was excited to start Fashion Week off with Keith Lissner’s Presentation at Picture Ray Studios. According to Keith the collections were inspired by his friend’s Indian wedding. Intricate drapping, delicate fabrics and caftan-like silhouettes were a perfect match for 25 of New York’s hottest fashion models.
